Mercedes Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automobile Mercedes Benz has announced a 25 percent growth in sales for the period January-June 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 4,717 units in the period.
The major contributors to the growth have been the S-Class sedan and the ML-Class SUV along with the A-Class and the B-Class.
According to a statement by the company, while the C-Class and the E-Class luxury sedans are the preferred vehicles for its customers, the AMG performance segment created by the automaker in India continue to grow appealing to the younger customers.
Mercedes Benz India had announced 2014 as the year of excellence and thus has been focusing on new product launches, ramping up of production facilities and qualitative network expansion as part of its branding and marketing initiatives.
