Honda Cars India, the wholly owned arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has announced that it will be re-launching various phased-out car models for the Indian car market. The carmaker also plans to increase sourcing from India.
The car models in question include the compact car model Jazz, the premium sedan Accord and the CR-V sports utility vehicle which has already been re-launched with new features. The Civic premium sedan will however not be re-launched as it has not shown any signs of growth in sales.
The carmaker is also planning to double the sourcing of auto parts from India to the extent of Rs 600 crore in the fiscal 2014-15.
Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) Honda Cars India stated that all the car models being re-launched will be next generation models.
