Indian car market leader, Maruti Suzuki once again proved why they are the leaders. After the success of Swift and SX4, Maruti unveiled its latest sedan DZire which is an extension of the present Swift hatchback. DZire is an entry level sedan placed between Swift and SX4. DZire is available in 3 variants of petrol and diesel each with the price ranging from 4.49 lakh to Rs 6.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is powered by 1.3 litre engines, same as the Swift hatchback.
“It has a special place in our product strategy. Millions of Indians own compact cars. With growing incomes and better lifestyle, many of them want to upgrade to a sedan. But today, they are not able to find an entry level sedan that offers style, features and performance. The DZire offers all this, and at an attractive price,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director S Nakanishi said.
The DZire offers integrated stereo, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, power windows and dual airbags.
The DZire project which was started in 2005 will replace the 10 year old Esteem.
