Maruti Suzuki India witnesses 4.8 percent fall in March 2013 sales

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer has posted a fall of 4.8 percent in its total sales for the March 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 1,19,937 units in the month in comparison to 1,25,952 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The carmaker registered a fall in both its domestic sales as well as exports in March 2013. The domestic sales of Maruti Suzuki decreased by 4.3 percent with sales of 1,07,890 units in the month against 1,12,724 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The exports by the automaker saw a decline of 8.9 percent with sales of 12,047 units compared with 13,228 units sold in the month of March 2012.

However, the annual domestic sales of the carmaker in the period 2012-13 fiscal increased by 4.4 percent with sales of 10,51,046 units compared with 10,06,316 units sold in the 2011-12 fiscal.
