Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has posted a growth of 33.5 percent in its sales for the month of June 2014. The automaker’s total sales for the month stood at 1,12,773 units in comparison to 84,455 units sold in the same month in 2013.
The domestic sales of the carmaker grew by 31.1 percent in June 2014 selling 1,00,964 units in comparison to 77,002 units sold in June 2013.
The sales growth was led by the volume selling mini car segment, including the M800, the Alto, the A-Star and the WagonR, which saw a growth of 52.1 percent from 31,314 units in June 2013 to 47,618 units in June 2014.
The compact car segment, which includes the Swift, the Estilo and the Ritz, witnessed a growth of 6.2 percent selling 22,293 units as against 20,996 units sold in the same month in 2013. The compact sedan segment which comprises the DZire grew by 27.4 percent.
The exports of the carmaker grew by 58.4 percent to 11,809 units in June 2014 in comparison to 7,453 units sold in June 2013.
