Maruti Suzuki India to invest Rs 2,400 crore in new R&D facility

Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker is set to invest Rs 2,400 crore in its Research & Development Centre and Proving Ground facility to be opened at Rohtak. The new 600 acre facility is expected by the company to enhance the research and development capability of its engineers. The foundation stone of the R&D center was laid by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda Chief Minister Haryana.

Commenting on the company’s decision, Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi Managing Director and CEO Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) stated that the new R&D facility will enable Maruti Suzuki to boost the designing and development process for new cars.

The facility will be equipped with the latest infrastructure for facilities for testing of emission and safety along with world class test tracks, added Mr. Nakanishi.
