Mahindras Auto Sector registers a 20 per cent growth in February 2011 sales numbers

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, today announced a 20% rise in its auto sales numbers, which stood at 33378 units during February 2011 as against 27894 units during February 2010.

The company’s domestic sales stood at 31967 units during February 2011, as against 26580 units during February 2010, an increase of 20%.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes the UVs as well as the Logan) registered a growth of 16%, having sold 15439 units in February 2011, as against 13350 units during February 2010. The 4 wheel pick-up segment has registered a growth of 13%, while the 3-wheelers segment has grown by an impressive 57%.

Speaking on the numbers, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “It is a good sign that the auto sector has been maintaining a healthy double digit growth. All our brands have being doing well with the Logan having clocked a sale of 1151 units in February 2011, which is more than a 110% growth compared to February 2010. With the launch of the Genio last month, we hope to further consolidate our position in the pick-up segment”.
