Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced a 20% rise in its auto sales numbers, which stood at 34,323 units during May 2011 as against 28,488 units during May 2010.
Its domestic sales stood at 32,159 units during May 2011, as against 27,038 units during May 2010, an increase of 19%.
The Verito sedan registered a strong growth of 185% having clocked 1291 units in May 2011, as against 450 units in May 2010. This is Verito’s highest ever sales since September 2009.
The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes the UVs as well as the newly launched Verito) registered a growth of 20%, having sold 16702 units in May 2011, as against 13939 units during May 2010. The 4 wheeler commercial segment which includes the passenger and load categories has registered a growth of 28%.
