Mahindra auto and tractor sales report for April 2011

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced a 23% sales rise in auto sector and 13% rise in Tractor market.

The company’s domestic auto sales stood at 30,349 units during April 2011, as against 25,037 units during April 2010, an increase of 21%.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes the UVs as well as the newly launched Verito) registered a growth of 20%, having sold 15,459 units in April 2011, as against 12,923 units during April 2010. The 4 wheel pick-up and commercial passenger segment has registered a growth of 16%, while the 3-wheelers segment has grown by an impressive 45%.

Tractor:

Domestic sales in April 2011 stood at 17,740 units, as against 15,697 units for the same period last year, an increase of 13%.

Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in April 2011 stood at 18,530 units, as against 16,302 units for the same period last year, an increase of 14%.

Exports for the month stood at 790 units, as against 605 units for the same period last year, an increase of 31%.
