Tata Motors owned Land Rover may decide to manufacture the new Land Rover Defender 2015 car model at Tata’s facility at Pune. Production in India will provide the company with closer proximity to Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Moreover, the low manufacturing costs in India will enable the company to make the car model more affordable.
The new Defender model which will get a 2015 debut is expected to have an updated and lightened version of Land Rover’s T5 ladder chassis and may get new design and styling from the company’s recently unveiled DC100 concept showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012.
Apart from the Defender, Land Rover already assembles its Freelander car model at Tata’s Pune facility to cater to the Asian market.
