Hyundai India to recall 2,437 units of the Santa Fe SUV

Hyundai Motor India, the largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India has announced that it will be recalling 2,437 units of the Santa Fe sports utility vehicle in India in order to replace the ‘stop lamp switch’.

A service campaign has been initiated by the carmaker to recall the Santa Fe car model from the production year 2011 and replace the ‘stop lamp switch’ at no cost to the customers due to risk of malfunction.

The voluntary recall affects the 2,437 units of the Santa Fe model manufactured during the period June 26, 2011 and September 26, 2013. The car owners will be notified of the recall in a phased manner and will be requested to bring their cars to an authorized Hyundai dealer to get the part replaced.

The voluntary recall policy initiated by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers in the year 2012 has enabled the carmakers in India to proactively recall vehicles to dispel auto safety concerns.
