Hyundai India, the largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India has introduced a new top end variant of the Verna sedan. The move by the carmaker is being seen as an attempt to counter the newly launched fourth generation Honda City sedan by Honda.
With the launch of the new top end variant, Hyundai expects to retain its leadership in the mid-size sedan segment. Named as Verna SX (O), the new sedan variant features new additions such as projector headlamp, safety escort headlamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and illuminated power switches.
The Korean automaker is also working on introducing a new diesel variant of the Verna sedan namely the Verna CX which will be powered by a 1.4 liter diesel engine. The upcoming car variant will incorporate new features such as rear parking camera with sensors, 2-din audio system with steering mounted controls, electro-chromatic mirror, adjustable and foldable side mirrors with turn indicators, airbags on the driver’s side and anti-brake locking system.
The mid-size sedan segment is witnessing a surge of new car launches with a flurry of facelift and upgraded car models by carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen and Skoda.
