Hyundai Motor India, the Indian subsidiary of the South Korean automobile major saw an increase of 15.2 percent to 49,901 units of total sales in January 2012 in comparison to 43,316 units in the same period in 2011. The domestic sales of the company increased by 11.86 percent from 30,306 units in January 2011 to 33,900 units in January 2012. The exports of the company have also increased by 22.99 percent in January 2012.
According to Mr. Arvind Saxena Director (Marketing and Sales) Hyundai Motor India Limited, the company will proceed with a cautious approach in light of the auto industry slowdown in the year 2011.
The Eon, the Santro, the i10 and the i20 car models of the company in the A2 segment dominated the sales with 44,960 units. The Accent and the Verna sedans in the A3 segment contributed to the sales with 4,797 units while the newly launched SUV Santa Fe sold 144 units in January 2012.
