Honda India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is planning to unveil the fourth generation of the City sedan car model for the Indian car market in the month of November 2013.
The new City sedan is expected to sport new premium features and attempt to recover lost ground in competition to Hyundai’s Verna sedan. The new sedan is also touted to feature a diesel engine option, something that had been missing from all Honda car products until it launched the new Amaze sedan.
While the new Honda Amaze sedan with diesel engine option has been a game turner, the carmaker plans to repeat the success by offering diesel option in its other existing products in India as well. Plans for the new Honda City sedan launch are in line with the automaker’s strategy to gain volumes in the Indian auto market.
The City will be available with six to eight car variants and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options in addition to an automatic variant. The design of the new sedan is expected to take after the Jazz hatchback as it’s based on the same platform.
