Honda India to hike prices in January 2014

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned Indian arm of the Japanese car manufacturer Honda is planning to increase prices across its car product portfolio in India from the month of January 2014. It is expected that the hike in prices will be in the range of Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 depending upon the car model and segment.

The move by the carmaker is in response to the effects of the unfavorable exchange rate and the inflation in India. The entire range of Honda cars in India including the Amaze sedan, the Brio hatchback, the CR-V sports utility vehicle and the Accord premium sedan will be affected by the price hike, stated Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen Senior Vice President Honda Cars India.

The quantum of price hike has not been finalized yet and the carmaker is reportedly working on the details.
