Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda’s Indian subsidiary Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has reported a growth of 343 percent in its sales for the month of May 2012 selling 10,334 units in comparison to 2,334 units sold in the same period in 2011.
Commenting on the sales performance of the company in the month of May 2012, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) HSCI stated that strong sales of the Brio hatchback and the City sedan have contributed to this growth. He added that the company expects significant overall growth in the fiscal 2012-13.
The Brio small car contributed 4,512 units to the total sales of the company while the City sedan sold 3,753 units followed by 1,948 units of the Jazz premium hatchback. The Civic sedan of the company sold 62 units and the Accord premium sedan posted sales of 38 units. The company sold 21 units of its CR-V sports utility vehicle.
