Honda India to export cars from the Ennore Port Chennai

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Honda has announced that it will utilize the Ennore Port to export cars to the South African automobile market. According to a company spokesperson, the carmaker finds the Ennore Port an attractive option for its export operations.

The major portion of Honda’s exports operations in India comprises the Brio hatchback and the Amaze sedan for the South African auto market. The carmaker plans to export about 6,000 cars in the current year 2014.

The Ennore port is in the process of inking an agreement for the use of the port as an export base by the American automaker Ford. Other carmakers that use the Ennore Port for their export operations include Volvo, Ashok Leyland and Japanese automakers Toyota and Nissan.
