Honda Cars India posts three-fold rise in sales in June 2013

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Honda has posted a three-fold rise in its sales for the month of June 2013. The carmaker sold 9,297 units in the month in comparison to 2,667 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The largest contributor to the increase in sales was the newly launched Amaze compact sedan with sales of 4,965 units in the month. The sedan was followed by 2,375 units of Brio small car and 1,830 units of the City sedan.

The company’s exports contributed a total of 761 units to the total sales of the carmaker in June 2013. Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Cars India stated that the carmaker expects to further grow its sales and increase its customer base with positive sales of the Amaze sedan.
