Honda Brio turns into a MPV

Honda Brio Mobilio MPV

The Honda Brio hatchback was quite successful in the Indian market, and now to take on the growing demand for MPV and crossover vehicles, the Japanese car maker has just unveiled their latest creation at the Indonesian motor show.

Based on the Brio, Honda have designed a MPV that is being called the Mobilio. The car has been developed exclusively for Asian markets and will also be on show at the Delhi Auto Expo next year. The Honda Mobilio will be Honda’s first model to be introduced in the lower priced MPV category, which is the best-selling category in the automobile market in Indonesia. Honda developed this model based on the research conducted in Indonesia regarding local road and weather conditions, and customer needs. While offering a spacious cabin space with a three row seat configuration for seven occupants, the Honda Mobilio features a compact-sized body fitting the general size of parking spaces in Indonesia which are of less than 4.4m in length. Moreover, taking local road surface conditions into consideration, the Honda Mobilio features a ground clearance as high as 185mm, which is equivalent to the ground clearance of SUVs while achieving nimble driving performance. All this sounds very familiar, and that’s because the Indnesian market and road conditions are quite similar to India. This means that the MPV would do very well here in India as well.

In Indonesia the car will be equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder gasoline engine, but for the Indian market we can expect different variants.
