GM India launches revised Chevrolet Captiva SUV

The General Motors India has launched an upgraded version of the Chevrolet Captiva SUV on Jul 27, 2012 with a base price of Rs 18,74,000. The SUV is powered by a new 2.2-litre engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and offers 186.5PS of power and 424Nm of torque. Among other update features are a new grille, new headlamps and wing mirrors as part of its style upgrades.

The SUV will continue to have the existing 2.0 liter engine version and the latest version will become the highest variant. The Captiva 2.0 MT and the Captiva 2.0 Xtreme priced at Rs 18,74,000 and Rs 19,48,000 respectively will feature the 2.0 liter engine while the Captiva 2.2 AT AWD priced at Rs 24,59,000 will have the 2.2 liter engine.

Interior feature upgrades include leather finish seats, sunroof, HVAC for the third row and an eight-way power adjustable driver seat. The new Captiva has six airbags and seat belt pretensioners with adjustable height for safety.
