The Indian subsidiary of the American carmaker, General Motors India has launched a new revamped Chevrolet Cruze sedan with a new engine and transmission on June 27th, 2012. A ceremony was held for the launch of the sedan in New Delhi.
The most prominent upgrades in the new sedan are the new 2.0 liter diesel engine and a next generation 6 speed manual transmission and automatic transmission in the highest variant. The sedan is available in three variants namely the LT, the LTZ and the LTZ automatic and features seven exterior colors.
The revamped Cruze is equipped with the new FAM Z 2.0-litre diesel engine which features an improved common rail fuel injection system and the variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) with intercooler. With a peak power of 166 ps at 3,800 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm at 2,000 rpm, the sedan is capable of 0-100 kilometers per hour in less than 9 seconds.
