General Motors India to focus on cost efficiency and exports

General Motors India, the Indian arm of the American automobile manufacturer General Motors is turning its focus to improvements in cost efficiency and increase in exports. The new strategy by the carmaker is expected to effect reduction in losses and stress in financial feasibility and sustainability.

The American automaker has been facing a tough time in the Indian auto industry due to sluggish sales, low economic activity in the industry and the recent volume recalls for various car models.

Mr. Arvind Saxena President & Managing Director General Motors India who has taken up the position in February 2014 stated that many other auto manufacturers are also under stress due to the current market scenario.
