Ford’s ‘Bharat Yatra’ to celebrate the sale of 100,000 units of Figo

To celebrate the sale of 100,000 wholesale units of Figo in just fifteen months of its launch, Ford has kicked off a road show called ‘Bharat Yatra.’ The road show will tour 1,000 cities across India and give Ford’s customers and fans a firsthand look at the popular hatch.

The 100 day long road show which started in Kolkata on June 29, 2011, will continue through the states of West Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Also beginning next week, another two convoys will depart from Pune and Bangalore. The three convoys will go to 1,000 Indian towns and cover 18 Indian states in the next 100 days.

‘Bharat Yatra,’ apart from going to Tier I and II cities, such as Pune and Asansol, will also tour remote Indian towns such as Gadchiroli, Hinganhat and Korba.

Nigel Wark, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, stated, “We are proud to have attracted 100,000 Figo customers in just 15 months. Through our 100-day road show, the Ford Figo ‘Bharat Yatra’, we will introduce the vehicle to even more Indian drivers, enabling them to see, first hand, what the buzz is all about.”

Ford Figo has been successful with the Indian consumers due to its pricing and fuel efficiency. The car gives 15.5 km a litre for its petrol variant and 18.5 km a litre for its diesel variant.
