Ford India records 6.88 percent sales growth in August 2013

Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American automobile manufacturer Ford has sold a total of 11,065 units in the month of August 2013, an increase of 6.88 percent as compared with 10,352 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The boost in sales of the carmaker is attributed to the recent launch of the EcoSport compact sports utility vehicle in the month of June 2013, enabling it to achieve its second best sales month in 2013 so far.

The domestic sales of the automaker grew by 2.14 percent in the month, selling 8,008 units in comparison to 7,840 units sold in August 2012. The American auto manufacturer exported a total of 3,057 units in August 2013, an increment of 21.69 percent against 2,512 units exported in August 2012.

According to Mr. Anurag Mehrotra Vice President of Sales Ford India, the carmaker has been able to record its second highest monthly sales in 2013 due to the positive response to the new EcoSport compact SUV.
