Ford India posts sales growth of 48.23 percent in total sales

Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American automobile manufacturer Ford has posted a growth of 48.23 percent in its sales for the month of July 2013. The carmaker recorded total sales of 12,338 units in the month in comparison to 8,323 units sold in July 2012.

The increment in sales of the automaker is being attributed to the recent launch of the compact sports utility vehicle EcoSport in June 2013. The domestic sales of the American automaker jumped 26.15 percent selling 7,867 units in July 2013 in comparison to 6,236 units sold in July 2012.

The export of the carmaker increased by more than two-fold in the month of July 2013 selling 4,471 units compared with 2,087 units exported in July 2012.

The automaker received 30,000 bookings for the new EcoSport compact SUV within the first 17 days of its launch in June 2013. The carmaker also started exports of the new car model to foreign car markets such as South Africa, Aruba and Mexico.
