Force Motors launches Gurkha Extreme Offroader Vehicle in India

Force Motors, the Indian automobile manufacturer has launched the Gurkha Extreme Offroader Vehicle (EOV) in the Indian auto market. The new car model claimed to be the world’s first EOV has been showcased by the automaker at the International Bus and Utility Show 2013 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

Equipped with the 2.6 liter Mercedes OM 616 derived turbo charged intercooled engine, the Gurkha offers 82PS of power at 3200 rpm and a torque of 230 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed synchromesh transmission with Hi-Lo option on transfer case. The extreme off-roading capability of the new car model is enabled further Differential Locks on both front and rear axles.

A ground clearance of 210mm and the intake “Snorkel” of the Gurkha enables it with the best in class water fording height.

The extreme off-roader which is based on the Mercedes Gelandewagen (G –Wagon) is available in 3 colors and various graphics and will be sold through the company’s Personal Vehicles Dealership network.
