Fiat India to roll out three new car models in 2013

Fiat India, the Indian subsidiary of the Italian auto major Fiat is planning to launch three new car models by the end of the year 2013. The new car models to be launched will include the new Punto Abarth performance car.

The Italian carmaker plans to introduce two jeep brands in India, namely the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. The jeep models will be imported into India, while the Punto Abarth car model will be manufactured at the company’s production facility new Pune.

Mr. Enrico Atanasio Managing Director Fiat Group Automobiles India commented on the future plans and products for the Indian car market and revealed that the automakers also plans to introduce two new SUV car models in the B and C segments by 2014. He added that the company’s objective is to strengthen the Fiat brand in the Indian auto market.

Mr. Atanasio added that Fiat expects to double its market share in India during the year 2013 with the influx of new car models. He further stated that the carmaker plans to open 110 new dealerships by the end of 2013, out of which 60-65 dealerships will open by the end of March 2013.
