BMW India showcases 4 new cars at Delhi Auto Expo 2014

BMW India, the Indian subsidiary of the German automobile manufacturer BMW has unveiled 4 new car models at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. The car models showcased by the carmaker were the BMW i8, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, the X5 and the BMW M6 Gran Coupe.

Speaking about the new car models for the Indian luxury car market, Mr. Philipp von Sahr President BMW Group India stated that the new 3 Series Gran Turismo will hit the Indian roads in the month of March 2014. The new car model will be produced locally at the carmaker’s assembly facility in Chennai and will be available in a diesel version. Also locally produced will be the new X5 car model which will hit the Indian roads by the third quarter of 2014.

The BMW i8, a hybrid car will be introduced for the Indian car market by the end of 2014 and will be sold as a completely built-up (CBU) unit, stated Mr. Sahr. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe will also be launched in India as a CBU unit by mid 2014.

John Cooper Works, the sub-brand of BMW owned MINI was also showcased at the event including John Cooper Works accessories.
