Audi looking to smash sales records in 2013 – dominate global luxury car market

Audi AG is having a very good year so far and has enjoyed the strongest first quarter in its history. With worldwide deliveries reaching around 3,69,500 units for January through March, the company improved on the prior-year quarter by 6.8 percent, which is a better growth rate than other German rivals Mercedes and BMW. In this period, Audi achieved growth in all of its three main sales regions which include Europe, Asia and North America. Unit sales in March played a major role in this respect as Audi handed over around 1,47,700 cars to customers – that is a 3 percent increase over last year and it also made the past month the strongest March ever for the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer. Over the last few years Audi has been enjoying the strongest growth in terms of sales and has continuously grown more rapidly than market leaders BMW and Mercedes, but if things continue like this for Audi the rest of the year they could very well be the Number 1 luxury car maker in the world in 2013.
