Audi India posts 37.01 percent growth in April 2013 sales

Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi has posted a growth of 37.01 percent in its sales for the month of April 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 770 units in the luxury car segment of the Indian auto market. In comparison to the current sales number, the carmaker had sold 562 units in the same month in 2012.

The luxury automaker witnessed an increment of 19.6 percent in sales for the period January to April 2013 selling 3,386 units in comparison to 2,831 units sold in the same period in 2012.

Mr. Michael Perschke Head Audi India stated that the carmaker achieved the top position in the Indian premium car segment beating top contenders BMW India and Mercedes Benz India in the month of April 2013 instead of the earlier target of 2015, marking a landslide success. He added that in addition to the first quarter of 2013, Audi India is also topping the whole of 2012-13 fiscal.

Audi India has sold a total of 9,350 units in the fiscal 2012-13 in comparison to 6,169 units sold in 2011-12 fiscal.
