Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has launched the upgraded version of the SUV Tata Safari named as Safari Storme in India at an entry level price of Rs 9,95,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The new Safari features various improvements over the existing car model and is expected by the company to boost sales in the current scenario of sluggish economic activity.
Among the claimed improvements are better quality interiors in beige color and refined cruising with better cabin insulation resulting in lesser external noise. The new SUV also features ladder-frame chassis and improved suspension. The company also claims improvement in the 2.2 liter common rail diesel engine powering the car model along with a revised 5-speed gear box.
The Safri Storme is claimed to offer a mileage of 14 kilometers per liter for the 2WD variant and 13 kilometers per liter for the 4WD variant. While the entry level price for the car model is Rs 9,95,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi), the top model has been priced at Rs 13,66,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
