Volvo Auto India today successfully delivered upon its promise of launching Volvo S60 in the first quarter of 2011. The company has beefed up its sedan offering in India by introducing a car sportier and more distinct than any previous Volvo. The premium sedan will be available in both petrol and diesel variants – T6 AWD Petrol with 304 hp and 440 Nm (most powerful engine in its segment) and D5 Diesel with 205 hp and 420 Nm. In addition to being competitively priced, Volvo S60 will offer unique features such as World’s first ‘Pedestrian Detection’ with full auto brake, Advanced Control with Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Laser Assisted Automatic Braking – City Safety, Turn with steering lights (Active Bending Lights) among others.

Competitively priced starting from Rs. 27 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai without octroi and Delhi), the Volvo S60 will be retailed through Volvo’s dealerships across the country starting March 2011.

The S60 has an all-new infotainment system where information from the audio unit, navigation system, mobile phone and other functions is presented on a 7-inch colour screen in the upper part of the centre console. The screen is installed high to make it easy for the drivers to keep their eyes on the road. The driver has access to all infotainment functions via controls and a scroll function in the steering wheel. It also includes Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity. The S60 features a high performance audio with DVD and 8 speakers.
