Volkswagen India takes stock of falling sales

Volkswagen India is in the process of analyzing its sales operations to understand the reasons for a decline in car sales and determine methods to enhance customer satisfaction. The company has been facing slowdown in sales since the beginning of the year 2012 and is revaluating its after sales services in order to duly meet customer expectations, said Mr. Neeraj Garg Member of Board Volkswagen Group Sales India.

Mr. Garg stated that the company has been witnessing slower growth in 2012 with 3.38 percent growth in January, 7.77 percent decline in February and 2.85 percent growth in March. Citing the overall sales of the company in India at 78,281 units with a growth of 51.68 percent in 2011-12 fiscal, he added that the company needs to maintain the growth experienced in 2011.

The German automaker is hoping to boost its sales by understanding and addressing the increasing expectations of customers and providing them improved after sales services. The company currently has 103 dealerships across 84 cities in India.
