Toyota registers 10,00,000 vehicle sales in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has announced that it has achieved the 10,00,000 vehicle sales milestone in India. The milestone was celebrated through a ceremony held by the carmaker in Cochin where the 10,00,000th car was handed over to the new owner.

As part of the celebration, the automaker has announced a special scheme for the month of March 2014 offering customers benefits up to Rs 40,000 along with various finance schemes with lower rate of interest through its finance arm, Toyota Financial Services.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. N. Raja Senior Vice President Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated that the milestone is an important one for the carmaker since Toyota forayed into the passenger car segment of the Indian car market in the year 2011 with the launch of the Etios sedan and the Etios Liva hatchback.

Mr. Raja added that Toyota has been operating in India with a sustainable growth strategy and has launched various social initiatives such as the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) in India to enable better training for the Toyota workforce in India. He also said that the automaker will continue to expand its presence to new markets and establish a sustainable network in India.
