Toyota, the Japanese automobile manufacturer which operates in India through the joint venture Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that a select batch of the Toyota Corolla premium sedan car model in the Indian car market will be recalled to fix defects in the airbags.
The recall in India is part of Toyota’s recall of 17,30,000 cars across the globe. The car models affected by the recall in India belong to the batches produced in the period between January 2003 and June 2003.
The owners of the affected car models will be contacted by authorized Toyota dealers to inform them of the defect and provide them the necessary service and repair free of cost. According to a company spokesperson, the carmaker hasn’t received any complaints from the owners of the car models affected by the recall.
