Toyota India to launch upgraded Fortuner and Innova

Toyota India has launched the new facelifted versions of the Innova and the Fortuner car models and is planning to showcase the newly designed cars at the Auto Expo 2012 in January 2012. Both the cars have been given new looks and signficant design changes on the exterior and certain functional and utility based changes have been made for the interiors.

The Innova now has rectangular shaped headlights in comparison to the earlier almond shaped ones and the grill which features more chrome now has been widened. Also the tail lights are covered with lens with clear lens treatment. Among the interior changes, the new dashboard consists of an integrated touch screen system.

The Toyota Fortuner has been given its first significant upgrade since its launch. For the exterior changes, the car now has HID front lights which seem to be inspired by Land Cruiser. Moreover, it has been given a larger chrome grill at the front and a wider bonnet. On the interiors front, the car features a touch screen display which in addition to music also doubles up as a rearview camera for the reverse gear function.

Apart from facelifting its car models, Toyota also plans to introduce two new variants of the Fortuner where one would be an automatic transmission variant and the other would be a 4×2 drive version.
