The Yamaha YZF-R3 goes naked

Japanese bike makers, Yamaha, have officially unveiled the naked version of the Yamaha YZF-R3, and it’s called the MT-03. The MT-03 is also the latest family member in the Yamaha MT line-up, which has sold over 70,000 units globally, and fills the gap between the MT-125 and the MT-07. The MT-03 is essentially a stripped down version of the YZF-R3, which made its debut in India just a few weeks ago. Everything remains the same as the R3, including the engine, chassis, suspension and wheels.

The engine is a 321cc parallel-twin producing 42bhp, and is situated in a slim frame with a neat R1-inspired asymmetrical swingarm. This time the bike will also get ABS. We already know that the R3 is a brilliant machine, so we can expect the MT-03 to be nothing short of excellent, as well as fun to ride. Now that KTM and BMW, as well as Mahindra, have naked 300s in the Indian market, we are more than sure that the MT-03 will make it way to India soon after it hits global markets in February 2016.
