Indian car makers Tata have just launched the all new compact crossover vehicle called the Nexon. The Nexon will take the fight directly to Matuti’s Brezza and the Honda WR-V. The Tata Nexon carries a good price tag and starts at Rs. 5.85 lakh for the base petrol variant, while the top-end diesel is priced at Rs. 9.44 lakh – ex-showroom, Delhi. Based on Tata’s new Impact design language, the Nexon certainly looks new and fresh. It gets a big honeycomb grille mesh, which compliments the sleek projector headlights with day time running lamps.
The silhouette and broad shoulder lines give the Nexon loads of character. The top-end XZ+ trim of the Tata Nexon gets the option of a dual tone paint scheme. The Tata Nexon ditches the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel motor and replaces it with a new 1.5-litre diesel motor. This unit is good for 108bhp and 260Nm. The petrol powered Nexon too produces 108bhp too, but from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged motor. Torque rating for the petrol stands at 170Nm. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Like latest generation of Tata’s vehicles, the Nexon features different driving modes – Eco, City and Sport.
