Tata Motors will open bookings for its much awaited 1 lakh car, the Tata Nano, by the end of this month. The car maker has tied up with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide loans for the Nano. Booking the car will be possible at SBI branches across the country, along with all Tata Motors dealerships, on the payment of a sum of Rs. 70,000.
The initial production of the Nano will happen at the company’s Pantnagar plant in Uttrakhand, which has a production capacity of only 3,000 units. The main Sanand plant in Gujarat will take another year to be operational. The Sanand plant will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 cars.
