Tata Motors reduces prices on Indica and Manza car models

Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has announced a price cut of up to Rs 50,000 on the Indica and the Manza range of car models. The carmaker aims to boost sales with this decision and offset its falling sales.

At the same time, the auto manufacturer has hiked prices on its utility vehicle car models including the Sumo, the Safari and the Aria by up to Rs 35,000. The increase in prices on the company’s SUV range of car model is a result of the increase in the excise duty hike from 27 percent to 30 percent as part of the Union Budget 2013-14.

According to a company spokesperson, the price cut on the Indica and the Manza range of cars is intended to improve the consumer buying sentiments and offer them a value proposition. The prices on the car models have been reduced with immediate effect by a range of Rs 29,000 to Rs 50,000.
