Tata Motors reported a 15 percent increase in the domestic sales of passenger vehicles in the month of January 2012 selling 34,699 units compared to 30,212 units sold in January 2011. According to the company, the sales figures are highest ever for any month. The company’s Indica range of hatchback car models contributed the most to the sales with 11,534 units followed by the Indigo sedan range with 9,272 units.
The total sales of the company including the exports to various global markets in the month of January 2012 also rose by 16 percent in comparison to the same period in 2011. Tata Motors’ exports have risen significantly by 43 percent compared to the total exports in January 2011.
Apart from the passenger vehicles, Tata Motors has also recorded an increase of 14 percent in the sales of commercial vehicles in January 2012 against January 2011.
