Skoda Auto has decided to showcase the concept car called MissionL at the Frankfurt International Motor Show 2011. The concept car will display the symbolic new look of the Czech carmaker’s planned model offensive. The compact five-door vehicle and will be launched in Europe, Russia and China along with specific modifications for each of the countries in line with the company’s internationalization principles. The Indian market will get its own version of the vehicle in form of a compact sedan.
This event is being seen as the beginning of Skoda’s growth strategy and implementation to reach the goal of 15,00,000 vehicles by the year 2018. Says Prof. Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland, Skoda Board Chairman, the company is going ahead with full steam and will be launching a new vehicle every six months for the next 2-3 years.
Skoda Auto has been investing heavily in the global market to increase production capacities in line with its 2018 growth strategy. The company plans to launch the Yeti in China in mid 2013 and will produce the car locally. It also plans to manufacture a new compact model for Chinese market in collaboration with the Shanghai Volkswagen, bringing up the number models to a total of five.
