Second time in a row, Skoda Auto India topped the customer satisfaction survey in JD Power Asia Pacific 2008 India Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) study.
The study, in its 9th year, surveyed 5,416 new passenger car owners in 20 Indian cities having ownership tenure of two to six months. Forty-one different passenger car brands were assessed in the study.
On a 1,000-point scale, Skoda scored 799 points followed by Ford (792 points) and in the third spot (782 points) was shared by Honda and Toyota and Indian manufacturers Mahindra & Mahindra. Maruti Suzuki came fourth with 775 points.
Skoda customers are particularly satisfied with the salespersons and the sales initiation process. A salesperson plays a key role in providing a hassle-free vehicle purchase experience for customers and represents the face of the manufacturer.”
While the industry average stood at 767 points, General Motors (Chevrolet brand), Mahindra Renualt, Tata Motors and Hyundai were below the industry average rating.
The study also pointed out to the growing importance of the internet among midsize car buyers who scanned websites for gathering information before choosing on a car brand.
