Cashing in on the soaring fuel prices, electric car company Reva is planning to launch the next generation Reva NXR in India. The car is an improved version of the company’s current model Reva Ai and is expected to be priced around Rs. 5,00,000.
The company is planning to officially unveil Reva NXR during the 2012 Indian Auto Expo show in Delhi. Reva NXR in a single charge can run a distance of 160 kms, in comparison to Reva Ai which covers a distance of 80 kms. Powered with a lithium-ion battery, the car has a top speed of 104 km/hr. This two-door car has a seating capacity of four people. The new car is expected to be fitted with gadgets such as digital display, keyless operation, dual charge ports and SMS alerts. The NXR can also text the user with crucial information such as ‘time-to-full-change’, ‘pre-heat or pre-cool the car’, ‘mail the driver a report on the driving habits’ and even ‘unlock the door as the driver approaches’. The car is also expected to have better interior finish and a completely re-styled exterior.
