Renault India is set to launch its second product, the Koleos crossover in the Indian market on September 8, 2011 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. The new car will be assembled at the company’s Chennai plant. This launch of Renault’s second car will mark the company’s venture in the Indian crossover segment after separating from the Indian major Mahindra & Mahindra.
The Koleos crossover will compete with the rival products by Mitsubishi, Toyota, Chevrolet and Tata Motors. Experts forecast the price to be around Rs. 20,00,000 and expect the new car to have features such as hands-free ignition and entry, automatic headlights and wipers and electronic parking brake along with Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control systems in the 4×4 variant. The French automaker hopes to establish itself with two new car launches including the Koleos crossover and hopes to expand its business in the Indian market.
