French carmaker Renault’s Indian arm Renault India has witnessed a 13-fold increase in its sales for the month of May 2013 with 6,013 units. In comparison, the carmaker sold 438 units in the same month in 2012.
The Duster compact sports utility vehicle launched in May 2012 accounted for 5,146 units of the carmakers total sales for the month of May 2013. The carmaker has sold a total of 60,000 units of the new Duster model within 10 months of launch.
Mr. Sumit Sawhney Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Renault India commented on the sales performance of the carmaker and stated that Renault will focus on growth in the Indian car industry and targets doubling its last year’s sales in the fiscal 2013-14.
