Renault India has added petrol versions of the Pulse car models to its portfolio in India. With the launch of a petrol option in the Pulse hatchback, the company plans to compete with car models in the segment by leading companies such as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai India and expects broaden its customer base.
The company had launched the diesel version of the Pulse hatchback in the month of January 2012 and has now introduced the petrol version with a 1.2 liter petrol engine. The entry level variant of the petrol powered Pulse has been priced at Rs 4,25,000, while the top-end variant is available at Rs 5,55,000 (Ex-showroom).
The diesel version of the hatchback is equipped with a 1.5 liter diesel engine. The Pulse has been designed on the same platform as used by the Micra hatchback by Nissan, Renault’s alliance partner. The company also has expansion plans to increase the number of its dealerships from 44 to 100 by the end of the year 2012.
