Renault India, the French automobile manufacturer has plans to start a new entry car project in India. With a price tag of about Rs 3,00,000, the new small car to be launched is expected by the company to be a volume driver and a key growth factor in the Indian auto market.
The project includes study of the car models planned for a launch in India such as the Sandero and the Duster SUV which the company state to be well designed for the Indian consumers. The company will take on a frugal view in the process of designing car products specifically for its Indian customers.
Mr. Carlos Tavares Chief Operating Officer for Renault stated that with the help of this project, the company will be able to venture into new markets such as Brazil, Russia, South Africa and Indonesia which have similar market conditions as India.
