Redesigned Camry 2012 for US market unveiled by Toyota

Toyota on August 23, 2011, introduced the completely redesigned 2012 Camry in the US market. The redesigned Toyota Camry is bigger and quieter and 90 per cent of its parts are completely redesigned.

Toyota Division Group Vice President, Mr. Bob Carter stated that the car which went on sale in the US 28 years ago in the year 1983 is still modern without losing its heritage. The new car is being manufactured at Toyota’s Georgetown plant (Kentucky, USA). The very first new Camry which rolled off the Georgetown’s production line on August 23, 2011, was driven by Toyota President and CEO, Mr. Akio Toyoda. Addressing the workers at the Georgetown plant, Mr. Akio said that the launch of the new Camry was really important to the company.

According to Mr. Carter, Camry 2012 is “the most American made,” as 80 percent of its parts are procured from the American suppliers. The new Camry will be cheaper than the existing models, as Camry LE will be priced at $22,500, which is $200 less than the existing model, Camry SE at $23,000, which is $1,000 less than the existing model and Camry XLE at $24,725, which is $2,000 less than the current model.
