Recalls 33,098 units of Maruti Alto 800 and Alto K10

The auto-major Maruti Suzuki will recall 33,098 units of its popular hatchbacks, including 19,780 units of Alto 800 and 13,318 units of Alto K10 due to citing problems in right hand door latch assembly. That apply on those vehicles, assembly manufactured between 8 December and 18 February. The company will proactively inspect and replace the right hand door latch. Maruti Suzuki authorised dealers will contact to owners of the affected vehicles then technicians will inspect the condition and carry out the necessary replacement at free of cost.

The company said that there is no concern if the right hand side door, both front and rear, is completely latched. If the door is half-latched, then the door may open if pressure is applied from inside.

This is the third recall from the Maruti Suzuki, since April. Company had recalled 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and DZire which was manufactured between 12 November 2013 and 4 February 2014 to replace the faulty fuel filler neck.
